Archbishop Bernard Hebda of Saint Paul and Minneapolis wrote on July 2 about the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX): "In the ten years that I have led this local Church, I have met many sincere people who worship regularly or occasionally at the chapels of the SSPX within the territory of our Archdiocese. I have been impressed by the strength of their families and their commitment to traditional Catholic values." He acknowledges that the FSSPX bishops’ excommunication will affect them in a particular way and hopes they will not follow them “in separating themselves from Pope Leo XIV.” Monsignor Hebda also noted that the Traditional Latin Mass is celebrated at six locations in the Archdiocese, adding: “I am confident that those who prefer the Traditional Latin Mass could find a home here.” #newsEtakruhtwp

Trump Administration Rolls Back Dozens of Gun Regulations Critics say the administration is weakening public safety. Proponents say regulations would be where they were before President Joseph R. Biden took office. nytimes.com/2026/07/05/us/politics/trump-gun-righ… A gun show in Phoenix last January. New rules include ending the so-called gun show loophole, which required background checks for guns shows and certain private sales.Credit...Paul Ratje for The New York Times By Aishvarya Kavi Reporting from Washington July 5, 2026 The Trump administration is scrapping more than three dozen firearms regulations, abandoning a crackdown on illegal sales, restoring gun rights to some people with mental illness and loosening oversight of private weapons transactions. The drastic retrenchment at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the federal agency responsible for enforcing the nation’s gun laws, was not entirely unexpected: President Trump campaigned as a champion of gun …Àteru
Vatican Newspaper Denies Devil: Biblical scholar and feminist Marinella Perroni, 78, wrote for the July issue of L'Osservatore Romano's monthly supplement Donne Chiesa Mondo. She claims that "in the Genesis account there is no devil"; rather, "the serpent is simply the most cunning animal in the eyes of the desert nomads." She argues - that belief in evil spirits entered Jewish theology only at a relatively late stage through contact with other ancient religions, - that the devil as a distinct figure appears only in the late and strongly Hellenized Book of Wisdom, and - that St. Paul and the First Letter to Timothy linked "the serpent, the woman, and the fruit" to "the devil, women, and sin," thereby reinforcing a patriarchal understanding of sexual difference.
Austrian Diocese Sponsors Homosexual March: On July 4, the first "Pride" demonstration took place in Villach (population: about 66,000), Austria. Among the sponsors, the Diocese of Gurk-Klagenfurt is listed in the lower right corner. During the march, some participants wore dog masks, one participant carried a communist flag, and a sign read: "Jesus had two dads – why can't we?"

Shadow of Ezra @ShadowofEzra An Israeli flag was raised and elevated to the same level as the American flag at the Great American Fair for the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. Israel has nothing to do with the founding of America.
Rev. Gerald Murray, a New York canon lawyer, called the excommunication of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X "a canonical mess" in an interview with Raymond Arroyo (video below). Two Canonical Mechanisms Rev. Murray distinguishes automatic (latae sententiae) penalties from imposed (ferendae sententiae) penalties requiring a judicial or administrative process. Cardinal Victor "Tucho" Fernández did not impose excommunication but declared that an automatic penalty had already been incurred, since consecrating bishops without papal mandate triggers excommunication under canon law. Decree Excommunicates Only Six Bishops Rev. Murray's central criticism: the decree names only six bishops, while the explanatory note refers to priests and laity. But a note cannot legally expand a decree's scope. The note calls priests "schismatics," yet the decree itself never declares them excommunicated. Since a penal decree must specify who committed which offense and when, and this was omitted, Rev. …Àteru
In other words, it's invalid. Church teaching says you can't be excommunicated by a heretic - LifeSite St. Thomas Aquinas: "The power of jurisdiction is not indelibly attached, nor is it connected with the power of orders. Consequently, it can be lost and suspended by heretical or schismatical persons, and therefore they neither absolve nor excommunicate, nor grant indulgences, nor do anything of the kind; and if they do, it is invalid."
Bishop Fredrik Hansen of Oslo, Norway, issued a July 3 statement following the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX). He said the two consecrating bishops and the four newly consecrated bishops had removed themselves from ecclesial communion and unity with the Pope: “This is sad, painful, and calls us to prayer and penance.” He urged Catholics to pray the Rosary for the unity of the Church on the Feast of Saint Sunniva, July 8. Monsignor Hansen repeated Cardinal Tucho Fernández’s explanation that the consecrations were a schismatic act and that the priests “can no longer validly grant absolution in the sacrament of confession.” He also urged Catholics to refrain from attending FSSPX Masses and other activities. Addressing FSSPX faithful directly, he wrote: “I understand that these are difficult and distressing days for you. You may find yourselves pulled in different directions, and perhaps stand bewildered before all that has now come to pass.” He …Àteru
Priest from excommunicated sect says future pope will reverse Vatican move This whole excommunication things is appearing more and more to be one huge joke, I know no one taking this matter seriously. Where is Pope St Pius X when you need him?
Did the 12 Apostles have to put up with this Vatican bureaucracy tit a tat? No. Why? Because Christ our Savior was their be all and end all. I doubt there are 4 priests today who could believe and declare Jesus Christ as their be all and end. They are too fretted with their standing and how they appear to others instead of Christ. It is sickening.
Unlocking Catholic Social Teaching: Dr. Martinez Introduces the Ave Maria Economics Course "God did not call us from the eyebrows down—He wants us to use our brains." Dr. Gabriel Martinez joins us to shatter the myth of the 'divided life' in business and economics. Every financial, corporate, or political decision we make isn't just a technical choice—it's a deeply human, moral decision. Dr. Gabriel Martinez, economics professor at Ave Maria University, steps into the living room to introduce a groundbreaking, completely free online resource: the Ave Maria Economics Course, hosted by The Pursuit of Wisdom. Condensing three full semesters of dense academic material into seven clear, highly accessible lectures, Dr. Martinez bridges the gap between modern market principles and the foundational pillars of Catholic Social Teaching. He unpacks why popular political ideologies often distort Church teaching by overemphasizing one truth (like human dignity or solidarity) while completely abandoning …Àteru
Bull of Pope Boniface VIII promulgated November 18, 1302 We are informed by the texts of the gospels that in this Church and in its power are two swords; namely, the spiritual and the temporal. For when the Apostles say: ‘Behold, here are two swords‘ [Lk 22:38] that is to say, in the Church, since the Apostles were speaking, the Lord did not reply that there were too many, but sufficient. Certainly the one who denies that the temporal sword is in the power of Peter has not listened well to the word of the Lord commanding: ‘Put up thy sword into thy scabbard‘ [Mt 26:52]. Therefore, both are in the power of the Church, namely, the spiritual sword and the material. But indeed, the latter is to be exercised on behalf of the Church; and truly, the former is to be exercised by the Church. The former is of the priest; the latter is by the hand of kings and soldiers, but at the will and sufferance of the priest. However, one sword ought to be subordinated to the other and temporal authority,…Àteru
essica Rojas @VoicesUnheard Old History Channel clip that still hits hard. 1983: Just 30 Watts of radio waves accurately mapped oil wells across 9 states by vibrating the Earth’s layers like piano strings. 1987: Researcher says turning on similar ELF tech near a fault line accidentally triggered a 4-4.5 quake. HAARP: Massive power beamed into the ionosphere, waves that reflect back through ground and ocean. “If you do this with a billion Watts, the vibrations could be so severe underground that could even cause an earthquake.” If this was possible in the 80s... What are they capable of in 2026? I’m just asking questions. Resonance physics is real. The tech has advanced dramatically. What do you think
The 7 Joys of Mary. HolyFamilyAcademy Seven is a mystical number. Our Lady’s Sorrows are seven and are celebrated twice during the year — on the Friday before Good Friday and on September 15. Our Lady’s joys are also seven and are celebrated within the octave of the feast of her Immaculate Heart. The Seven Joys of Our Lady are: (1) The Annunciation; (2) the Visitation; (3) the Birth of Our Lord; (4) the Adoration of Jesus by the Magi; (5) the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple; (6) the Resurrection of Our Lord; (7) the Assumption of Mary in body and in soul into Heaven. The feast of The Seven Joys of Our Lady is a very special feast of the Franciscan Order and they recite in its honor the Franciscan Crown, which consists of a seven-decade rosary — seven Our Fathers and seventy Hail Marys, to which are added two Hail Marys because Our Lady was seventy-two when she died and was assumed into Heaven. catholicism.org/the-seven-joys-of-mary.html
It almost beggars belief one would have add that proviso but clearly the person who made the Commemorative Address, (I believe it was the Hon. Chauncey M. Depew) was prescient in needing to do so.
